Hey friends, are you interested in making a difference in your community? Money isn't the only thing you can give. There are lots of options for volunteering your time.

Whether it be a little or a lot, one of the best places to volunteer may be closer than you thought - an animal shelter or animal protection organization for example.

You can easily join a network of hundreds of thousands of people working to make the world safe and more humane for all living creatures.

You can make the jobs of everyone working for animals a little easier by lending a hand and spreading the message of responsible pet ownership and animal protection.

For most rescues the greatest need is being a Foster Parent. If you could help out by fostering a pet, many rescue organizations rely completely on individuals willing to open their homes. Many organizations will pay for any necessary medical treatments or medications needed by your foster pug. You supply food, water and LOVE.

Other volunteer activities for rescues could include doing in-home visits helping to match pets with potential adopters and prospective foster families or transporting animals to and from homes, shelters, and special events for adoption. Give one on one time to a shelter dog while providing exercise for both of you! Their dogs rely on volunteers for one-on-one enrichment time.

Get the warm fuzzies! You'll never find a more grateful and accepting comrade than an animal you've comforted.
